FP&A Modeling / Synthetic workbench

Decompose the variance.
Model the recovery.

Inspect an exact additive Price-Volume-Mix (PVM) and Unit Cost margin bridge across three commercial channels, then stress-test FY2027 rolling forecast scenarios.

All channels, unit counts, prices, and forecast scenarios are prepared synthetic fixtures. Controls switch between example summaries rather than running the Python model; forecasts use fixed seasonal factors and simplified assumptions. Figures are generated from the case study's pinned source revision; bridge values are rounded to whole dollars.

Consolidated Portfolio (All 3 Channels): -$104,950 GM variance (5655 bps (56.55%) → 5338 bps (53.38%) [-317 bps]).

Unit growth adds margin, but the mix shift, lower prices, and higher unit costs leave total gross margin below budget.

Volume allocates the portfolio’s total unit change using budget channel mix and budget unit margins. Mix then captures each channel’s departure from that allocation, so a channel can have a positive Volume effect even when its own units fall.
